Naga hosts franchise seminar

MANILA, Philippines - Businessmen and budding entrepreneurs in Camarines Sur and other Bicol provinces will get a rare opportunity to learn from the best minds in the franchising industry in the Nov. 27-28 Franchising Seminar organized by the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with the Philippine Franchise Association (PFA).

The two-day seminar will be held at the Jesse M. Robredo Coliseum in Naga City.  Also expected to participate in the seminar are entrepreneurs from nearby cities and Bicol provinces. It will serve as one of the principal highlights of the 8th Bicol Business Week.

The seminar session on Nov. 27 will focus on the subjects, Be Your Own Boss!  How to Buy the Right Franchise Wisely, and will be for prospective franchisees. The Nov. 28 session on How to Franchise Your Business is targeted for business owners who want to expand and grow their business via franchising.

The first day session is designed to introduce the fundamentals and advantages of franchising as a desirable route to entrepreneurship.  “Franchising is basically the duplication of a successful business,” said PFA president Elizabeth ‘Yvette’ Pardo-Orbeta. “When you get a franchise, you virtually remove the trial-and-error phase associated with starting your own business.  This is why franchising has a very high success rate compared to traditional start ups.”

The Nov. 28 seminar session will zero in on the benefits of franchising one’s business to expand and grow it jointly with other people using their own time and resources. Participants will learn why franchising has become the most favored strategy in expanding a business and how successful MSMEs can use the strategy to expand locally and even overseas.
