Red Bull, WWF launch RedBullution

MANILA, Philippines - Red Bull Supreme Energy Drink has teamed up with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to launch RedBullution eco challenge program 2012, a contest that seeks to inspire students to save the environment. RedBullution is an inter-collegiate and high school competition that aims to find alternative, innovative student-designed conservation solutions to address solid waste issues in the country, give them recognition and a grant to subsidize the project costs. It is open to school-based organizations or groups in universities, colleges and high schools. Deadline for submission of application is Nov. 20. Contestants will present their plans/project proposals to a panel composed of Sen. Koko Pimentel, Gaby dela Merced, Romy Garduce and representatives from RedBull and WWF. A group of four students must accomplish a two-part application process that includes submission of a photo of an environmental issue concerning solid waste management that they want to address. Winners will receive a cash prize of P10,000 for project continuity.  They will also get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit a WWF conservation site in the Philippines in a three-day, two-night trip, where they will immerse at the frontlines of the organization’s environmental sustainability work and witness the magnificence of Philippine biodiversity. RedBullution will hold roadshows in several universities and colleges with Sen. Pimentel, Dela Merced and Garduce as the speakers for the solid waste management advocacy. Interested individuals are encouraged to email their application to www.projectredbullution@gmail.com.
