MANILA, Philippines - BDO Unibank Inc. (BDO) has been named the Philippines’ Best Domestic Bank in the recently concluded The Asset Triple A Country Awards 2011.
The Hong Kong-based investment journal highlighted the bank’s “sustained growth momentum in 2011 as it posted a robust performance on the back of its strong franchise and wider range of business activity”. BDO reported a net profit of P7.6 billion at the end of September 2011 and is on track to meeting its full year 2011 income target of P10.5 billion.
The Asset also awarded BDO’s wholly owned subsidiaries – BDO Private Bank and BDO Capital and Investment Corp. – as the country’s Best Private Bank and Best Domestic Investment Bank, respectively.
BDO is also the only Philippine bank to be cited in the prestigious The Asset’s Platinum Awards 2011, having “attained rigorous standards in all six categories of corporate endeavor: financial performance; management acumen; corporate governance; social responsibility; environmental responsibility and investor relations.
