MANILA, Philippines - Largest Filipino-owned business process outsourcing (BPO) company SPi Global has opened its Greensboro facility in North Carolina in the US to support the growing demand for healthcare solutions in the area.
A wholly-owned unit of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT), SPi Global said the move will create 75 new jobs in the Greensboro area by the end of 2013.
“This expansion addresses the demand for our services and will put us in a position for future growth. The demand is reflected in the five-year growth of our healthcare unit, SPi Healthcare, and the industry-leading profits we had. The trend is very encouraging,” SPi Global president and CEO Maulik Parekh said.
SPi Healthcare will offer revenue cycle management services, including full Business process outsourcing from the Greensboro facility. This will help healthcare organizations in the Southeast region to effectively manage tightening margins and reverse declining reimbursements to ultimately improve their overall financial health.
“We also believe that the Greensboro community is a place where we can hire excellent people to work for us, and where we can do great work for healthcare organizations,” Parekh added.
Earlier SPi Global combined its two healthcare operating entities in the US – Springfield Service Corp. and Laguna Medical Systems – into the new SPi Healthcare brand. This enables the company to provide a full-spectrum approach to financial health of US healthcare clients.
SPi Healthcare now focuses on simplifying two highly regulated processes – revenue cycle management and clinical documentation – to deliver transformative client outcomes.
Aside from this expansion in the United States, SPi Global has invested in expanding its operations in Dumaguete City, where the company has a facility housing three of its business units – healthcare, content solutions and CRM. SPi Global experienced tremendous demand for its voice and non-voice services, thus doubling the number of employees to 2,600 this year. As a result, the company is now the largest private employer in Negros Oriental province.
