Pafmil offers baking course

MANILA, Philippines - The PAFMIL Baking Center starts its 20-day Basic Commercial Baking Course on Oct. 17 at its modern training facility at DSWD Jose Fabella Center at Correctional Road, Mandaluyong City.

Open to all baking enthusiasts, the course focuses on commercial baking applications with emphasis is on producing breads and other baked goods for bakery operations. The 20-day course is best suited to people intending to put up a bakery or those who would like to work in bakeries or bakeshops. The course runs daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Morning sessions consist of lectures and theoretical discussions while the afternoons are devoted to bread production. All students are required to bake bread products daily.

The PAFMIL Baking Center is funded by the Philippine Association of Flour Millers (PAFMIL) composed of seven flour milling companies. These are RFM Corporation, PILMICO Foods Corp., Liberty Flour Mills, General Milling Corp., Universal Robina Corp., Philippine Flour Mills, and Wellington Flour Mills. The baking center staffed by foreign-trained bakery practitioners and guest lecturers come from the bakery industry and allied businesses, such as yeast producers and oils and shortening suppliers.
