UK firm to offer power solutions

Manila, Philippines - Aggreko, UK-based company, will offer its power solutions to avoid incidents of power disruptions in the country.

In a statement, the British Embassy in Manila said Aggreko, a developer of power solutions, will present its products next week.

It said Aggreko’s expertise may help address the increasing likelihood of a power shortage in the near future which poses a threat to businesses operating in the country.

Aggreko, the world leader in the supply of temporary power and temperature control services, will present its alternative solutions to industry participants.

Target industries include agriculture, construction, major events, food and beverage, governments and institutions, healthcare, manufacturing, mining and mineral processing, oil and gas, refineries, ports, shipping, service industries, telecommunications, semiconductors and utilities.

Aggreko has more than 45 years of experience worldwide, and owns the world’s largest power rental fleet, consisting of diesel and natural gas generating sets.

Experts from Aggreko are in Manila to offer power supply options to enable businesses to avoid costly operational disruptions that may be brought about by a power gap,” the British Embassy said.

Aggreko, in partnership with the British Embassy Manila through UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), is organizing a seminar to inform industries of their power supply options in case of unavoidable future power supply shortages.

The British government has been luring UK firms to invest in the country’s power sector. Earlier, it said the Philippines may be able to capture big chunk of its $790 million energy efficiency investments.

“As power costs in the country continue to be one of the highest in Asia, a recent study funded by the British Government shows the Philippines has the potential to take a huge chunk of energy efficiency investments amounting to at least $790 million,” it said.
