MANILA, Philippines - Sales of Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. rose by three percent to 6,251 units in the first four months of this year from 6,419 units a year ago.
Hyudai noted an uptrend in demand for its fuel-saving vehicles as it posted strong sales for the Accent and Sonata models under the passenger car segment, and the Santa Fe, Tucson, and Grand Starex units for the light commercial vehicle (LCV) category.
For the passenger car segment, the Accent yielded a 30-percent sales growth followed by the Sonata with an 18-percent sales growth in April compared to last March.
Month-on-month, Hyundai’s sales grew by five percent to 1,707 units in April from a month ago..
“The sales prove positive for Hyundai, as the figures show that Filipinos are growing increasingly supportive of ways to minimize fuel consumption and their carbon footprint with their patronage of vehicles that are energy efficient,” said Fe Perez-Agudo, president and CEO of Hyundai Asia Resources Inc., noting the significant gains of Hyundai’s fuel-efficient range of vehicles.
