MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino is shown presenting Accenture with the Hall of Fame award for Outstanding Exporter and the 2011 Outstanding Community Project Award from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, has been named to the PEZA’s Hall of Fame after winning the Outstanding Exporter Award for three consecutive years (2008, 2009 and 2010).
The PEZA distinction honors companies for their conti-nued contributions to the growth of the Philippine economy, based on total export value, growth and net trade balance. This year, Accenture won the Outstanding Community Project Award for its “exemplary projects in community development.”
Manolito Tayag, country managing director of Accenture Philippines, shown receiving the award said, “We are honored and grateful to PEZA for these awards. These are a testament to the high performance service delivery by Accenture’s workforce in the Philippines to our global clients.” Marilyn Siy, Accenture senior executive sponsor for corporate citizenship, expressed pride in the company’s Skills to Succeed projects, which help Filipinos build the skills to get a job or build a business.
These initiatives include IT scholarships for underprivileged students, in partnership with French non-profit organization Passerelles Numeriques in Cebu, livelihood projects for Gawad Kalinga communities and microenterprise programs for Accenture’s own custodians and security guards, with the help of PinoyME Foundation.
