MANILA, Philippines – The Mega Manila Bay Press Club in cooperation with the National Press Club, Asean Center for Biodiversity and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources will be holding the Jose Capadocia Civic Journalism Environmental Forum on Dec. 23, 9 a.m. at the Social Hall, DENR Bldg. at Visayas Ave., Quezon City.
Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri and DENR Secretary Ramon J.P. Paje will lead officials from the government in exchanging dialogue with “green warriors” from media, green pens composed of young campus journalists, civil society and private sectors providing green solutions to environmental concerns.
Resource speakers are Pasay City Mayor Antonino Calixto with his barangay landmark project of massive treen planting, Dr. Pilar Fontelar, founding chairperson of Pinoy Fishmart Multi-Purpose Cooperative with their green initiatives in the fisheries sector and Stephen Collins with Mackay Energy Group providing green solutions to air, water and energy concerns.
Forum moderators are Roman Floresca of Philippine STAR and veteran journalist Leonardo Belen assisted by Andy L. Ilustre and Dante Pasia.
The year-end environmental forum is in honor of the late Press Secretary Jose Capadocia, founding chairman of the Mega Manila Bay Press Club and former chair of the National Union Journalist of the Philippines.
