MANILA, Philippines - Former Energy Secretary Vince Pérez has joined the advisory board of the Pictet Clean Energy Fund, one of the world’s largest alternative energy funds investing in companies that will profit from the transition to clean energy.
The Pictet Clean Energy Fund is managed by Pictet Asset Management,the investment management arm of Pictet & Cie. Founded in Geneva in 1805, Pictet & Cie is today one of Switzerland’s largest private banks, with assets under management and custody totalling $384 billion and employing more than 3,000 people worldwide.
In a statement, Pictet said Pérez was invited to the advisory board “in recognition of his industry experience ‘in the clean energy space, garnered from positions of leadership in the Philippine government and in the private sector and recognized as an innovative strategist with sound entrepreneurial skills.”
Pérez also chairs Merritt Partners, an energy advisory firm; serves as CEO of Alternergy Partners, a renewable power company; and is a board member of WWF-International and chairman of wwf-Philippines.

Pérez, an international investment banker, headed the Department of Energy from 2001 to 2005, boosting energy self-sufficiency, promoting clean indigenous energy and crafting an ambitious renewable energy policy framework.
