Best practices for audit committee

MANILA, Philippines - The Center for Global Best Practices is launching a pioneering program titled “Board Directors’ Guide for Audit Committees” on July 1 and 2 at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City. The CPE Accredited two-day comprehensive seminar is a very useful guide with practical applications on how to craft a working program and agenda for audit committees that will make it easier for all to relate better with the board and have a constructive relationship with management. The special event will also feature the top 10 best practices for audit committees, reading and spotting key issues in audit reports, special investigation and financial reporting function, risk assessment protocols and tools, and solutions to challenges and problems faced by the board and audit committees. Special lecturer is CPA-lawyer Rosario S. Bernaldo, the president of the Corporate Governance Institute of the Philippines. She is the founder and managing partner of law and accounting firms Bernaldo, Directo and Po Law Offices and R.S. Bernaldo and Associates, which comprises more than 120 accountants and lawyers. It will also feature Juan Carlos Robles, CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA who is concurrently holding three positions at Punongbayan and Araullo such as being chairman of its audit committee, partner of risk management and partner of specialist advisory services division. It will also include Lilian Linsangan, CPA, CIA, CFE, CCSP who is the president of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She headed P&As audit division until 2008 and is presently partner-in-charge and head of Specialist Advisory Services Division of the firm. She has over 25 years of experience in the audit of local and multinational companies.
