MANILA, Philippines - PowerTrends 2009, the largest and longest lasting international energy exhibition in the Philippines, has been organized to serve as the trade exhibit for the ministerial conference on green industries organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) on Sept. 9 and 11, 2009.
PowerTrends 2009 international exhibition will be held at the World Trade Center for the invited ministers, their business delegations and businessmen from the country and around the Asian region.
PowerTrends 2009 focuses on energy technologies and products relevant to the Ministerial Conference on Green Industry in Asia: Managing the transition to resource-efficient and low carbon industries. Ministers, senior government officials, representatives from industrial chambers and associations, key officials and technical personnel of energy and energy-related industries, businessmen, entrepreneurs, academia and research institutes, international/regional organizations and the ASEAN secretariat are expected to visit PowerTrends 2009.
PowerTrends 2009, organized by Leverage International (Consultants) Inc., will focus on: New and sustainable energy technologies to meet climate change technologies to improve power, energy and lighting efficiency; technologies for upgrading and building of new plants to meet growing market demands for an expanding economy and growing population; intensified and improved technologies for oil and gas exploration and new directions in production and use of diesel fuel, petroleum, LPG and LNG, in the interest of energy security; eco-friendly products existing and under development; and carbon credits – the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).
Side by side with the exhibition is the PowerTech Business Forum. Speakers in this parallel event are C-level executives from both the private and public sectors engaged in the energy industry. They will discuss the economics and opportunities of new sources of energy. The conference is to be keynoted by Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes.
