MANILA, Philippines - St. Luke’s Medical Center recently received the prestigious 2009 Grand Kapatiran sa Industriya (KAPATID) Award from the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) in recognition of its excellence in the field of industrial peace and harmony, productivity and quality, social accountability, and strategic visioning and partnering for business and job survival.
The award was given during the recent 30th National Conference of Employers held at the Manila Hotel with President Arroyo as guest of honor.
With this year’s theme: “The Global Crisis: Our Response,” the awarding ceremony was attended by over 500 executives and employees from the various sectors of the business community.
The KAPATID Award is a biennial ceremony sponsored by ECOP. It was established in 1995 and recognizes companies that promote closer enterprise level cooperation between management and employees.
St. Luke’s Medical Center is the country’s premiere hospital that will soon open a second site, to be situated at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City. It is also the only local affiliate of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and Weill-Cornell Medical College of Cornell University.
