MANILA, Philippines - Philippine conglomerate SM Investments Corp. (SM) was a special awardee during the Best Annual Report (BAR) program organized by the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) in coordination with the Philippine Stock Exchange. During the ceremony, SM received the Conglomerates Award for having four of the SM group’s annual reports among the top 20 Annual Report finalists.
SM also received an award of merit for its annual reports in the Anvil Awards of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP).
SM executive vice president, Jose T. Sio said: “SM continues to improve on its annual reporting standards based on best practices in transparency, readability, design and aesthetic appeal. It also creates a unifying theme for the whole group based on relevant business developments.”
The 2007 theme of the Annual Reports was SM’s 50th anniversary celebration, where it featured its founder Mr. Henry Sy Sr. The SM Investments annual report also chronicled the growth of SM over the past 50 years from its humble beginnings as a shoe store in Carriedo to where it is now as one of the country’s most diversified conglomerates with interests in retail, mall operations, banking and property development.
