Technostrat launches 'Jeep-Sea' in Boracay

A modern bamboo boat built with indigenous, renewable materials will soon be launched in the paradise island of Boracay, WinAce Holdings Philippines, Inc. chairman Teodorico T. Haresco, Jr. announced yesterday.

“Dubbed as the “Jeep-Sea”, the bamboo boat is a low cost, maneuverable, extremely buoyant watercraft, a new version of the Philippine “Bangka” that can be configured for many sea-borne applications, including recreation, water-taxis and commercial transport of goods,” Haresco said.

The new seacraft merges sound, modern watercraft design principles and the natural buoyancy of the Philippine Bamboo, crafted by Technostrat Corp., a subsidiary of WinAce Holdings Philippines Group of Companies.

Brian Stanley Jackson, Technostrat Corp. managing director and chief scientist, declared that “Jeep-Sea” is practical, low cost and virtually “unsinkable”, a modern planning boat adaptable for many waterborne operations, from riverine, beach and open-sea use.”

It is very affordable, so it is ideal for local use. And if it were to be exported, it would cost foreign buyers much less”, he said.

Technostrat Corp. has long been at the forefront of Marine-based technology, designed to rehabilitate, preserve and protect Philippine and International eco-systems. It is the holder of an international patent for pH-neutral artificial corals, known as Eco-Coral, designed to beautify underwater environment for scuba-diving and promote tourism as well as rehabilitate the coral habitat for fisheries resource up-grading.

“We focus on developing solutions to vital problems that are environmentally friendly and self-sustaining,” Haresco asserted. “In so doing, we also provide livelihood,” he continued.

The “Jeep-Sea bamboo boat is currently undergoing sea-trials for an undisclosed high class resort in Boracay. Technostrat is ready to craft and market more jeep-sea units. Interest parties may visit www.bambooboats.com for more information.
