Clark firms to invest P11.5B for expansion

CLARK FREEPORT – At least eight firms here will be pouring P11.5 billion for various expansion projects inside the Clark Freeport this year, the Clark Development Corp. (CDC) authorities said.

During the regular meeting of the Metro Clark Advisory Council (MCAC), CDC marketing department manager Raffy Galvez reported that industrial, electronics, tourism, and commercial firms here have ongoing expansion projects with a combined total of P11.5 billion in investments.

Galvez said of the eight firms with expansion projects here, five are tourism and commercial-related, two are into electronics manufacturing, and one industrial firm.

“The employment potential of these expansion projects,” Galvez added, “has a total of 4,765.”

Clark’s tourism thrusts would be propelled further, Galvez said, as Widus International Leisure, Inc. will spend P1.5 billion for the construction of another 5-star hotel, casino, convention center, and water theme park.
