Dizon Agro-Industrial Inc. plans to extend the success of Dizon farm in Davao to Pampanga by developing 32 hectares in Clark into a citrus orchard. The orchard will be planted basically to calamansi and some fruit bearing trees.
The lease agreement was signed between CDC president Emmanuel Y. Angeles and Francisco S. Dizon, president of the Dizon Agro-Industrial project.
Dizon said cash crops would be planted within the same area during the gestation period of the fruit trees so as to immediately generate jobs and income for the project. The Dizon Farm in Davao is famous for its mangoes, lanzones, pomelo, pineapple and other tropical fruits being sold in the international and local markets.
Angeles said that Clark will benefit from the techno transfer because the Dizon companys success in farming and marketing of a wide variety of tropical fruits. He said Dizon, who hails originally from Porac, Pampanga, has agreed to lease a 32-hectare property inside Clark near the former ammo dump of the US 13th Air Force.
The 25-year lease is renewable by another 15 years.
