The eight other firms which submitted letters of intent are Sierra Madre Water Corp., Operation Management International Philippines, JL Business & Technology Consultancy, SGV & Co., FF Cruz & Co. Inc., San Lorenzo Ruiz Builders, 7 Developers Group Inc., China National Water Resources & Hyrdropower Engineering and Vivendi Water.
The proposed MWSS project, which is estimated to be completed in two years, will be under the governments build-operate-transfer (BOT) scheme.
The MWSS project is part of the governments effort to address the expected water shortage in Metro Manila by the year 2007.
The MWSS project is expected to provide 400 million liters of water per day.
The BOT Center is an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and is mandated by Republic Act 7718 or the BOT Law to coordinate and monitor infrastructure projects implemented under the BOT program.
