Cebu Pacific adds new flight to Palawan

One month after it launched its service between Cebu and Puerto Princesa, Cebu Pacific will add another flight to this route, increasing frequencies from thrice weekly to four times a week.

Starting May 15, 2003, flights are scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, departing Mactan International Airport at 11:15 a.m. and Puerto Princesa at 1:05 p.m.

Salvador Ramirez, Cebu Pacific VP/GM for sales, attributed this move to the route’s heavy passenger traffic. "The market had a very positive reaction to this service. To date, our average number of passengers in 85-or 75-percent load factor."

Puerto Princesa Mayor Edward Hagedorn expressed gratitude to Cebu Pacific for this inter-island link.

"Cebu Pacific’s entry in Palawan has done a lot for our tourism," said Mayor Hagedorn. "Through its flights, travelers from Visayas and Mindanao now have easy access to Palawan, and vice versa. It’s easier for us to get to Bacolod, Butuan, Davao, Iloilo and Zamboanga."

Mayor Hagedorn adds, "Cebu Pacific’s show of support to Palawan is truly appreciated by the whole province."

One-way fare between Palawan and Bacolod or Iloilo is being offered at P2,569. Between Palawan and Butuan, Davao or Zamboanga, fare is pegged at 3,239. Cebu Pacific also plies the Manila-Puerto Princesa route daily.
