Asian Spirit adds more flights

Leading domestic airline Asian Spirit marked its seventh anniversary yesterday with the addition of more flights to Boracay.

The anniversary celebration also coincided with the resumption of Asian Spirit flights to Busuanga, Palawan after adding Laoag, Ilocos Norte and Clark, Pampanga this year and with possible addition of San Jose, Antique soon to its growing list of destinations.

The airline started operations in 1996 using a 60-seater De Havilland Dash 7 to fly tourists from Manila to Boracay and back. Seven years later, the airline now operates a fleet of 12 aircraft serving 19 destinations in and out of Manila and Cebu. In Boracay alone, the airline flies almost every hour, nine times daily beginning 7:30 a.m.

"Even our newly opened destinations like Batanes and Laoag are experiencing heavy influx of passengers surpassing our expectations," said Jack Po, executive vice president of Asian Spirit.

"As we celebrate our seventh year, we wish to thank the riding public for continuously patronizing the airline," Po said, as he assured that Asian Spirit will continue to look for other destinations, which remains unserviced by any airline.
