Globe, PNB offer free calls to OFWs in ME

With an impending war in the Middle East, Globe Telecom, with its cellular brands, Globe Handyphone and Touch Mobile, has joined the Philippine National Bank in launching a call for free program.

Should the war in Iraq erupt, families of OFWs in the Middle East can stay connected to their loved ones through the calling facilities established by Globe Telecom, PNB and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). These facilities will be made available in the various regional offices of the OWWA.

The project: PNB Tele-Ugnayan will make telecommunications available mainly through the mobile facilities of leading telecom provider Globe Telecom. Locally, Globe and PNB will set up mobile calling stations in the OWWA headquarters along B.F. Harrison St. in Pasay City as well as in 11 regional OWWA offices located in key strategic areas around the country.

The Tele-Ugnayan project supports Globe Telecom’s thrust to make communications readily available to Filipinos from all walks of life, in all areas around the country. Filipinos will be able to call OFW’s in Kuwait, Saurdi Arabia and Dubai, UAE.

As a gesture of gratitude for being modern day heroes of the country and in order to help ease tension among loved ones overseas, Globe Telecom has willingly partnered with PNB as part of its efforts to help overseas Filipinos.
