According to BCDA president Rufo Colayco, the NDC is better suited to develop the IT park located in Taguig, Rizal.
The Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Colayco said, is wiling to extend a $90-million loan to develop the IT park which has been approved by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) as a special ecozone.
As a special ecozone, locators are entitled to incentives such as income tax holiday, duty-free importation of capital equipment and a few others.
To date, the PEZA has approved nine IT parks.
These include the Eastwood Cyberpark; the E-Square Information Technology Park in Fort-Bonifacio-Global City; the RCBC IT Park; the Robinsons Cyberpark; the PBCom Tower and four IT parks in Cebu.
Colayco added that the NDC would better handle the development of the IT park in line with the Department of Trade and Industrys priority of developing the IT sector.
The NDC is under the DTI.
