Reese Bros to set up call center in Subic

Reese Brothers, one of the largest call center operators in the US, is investing P20.8 million to set up a state-of-the-art information technology call center facility in the Subic Bay Freeport, SBMA chairman Felicito C. Payumo disclosed yesterday.

"Reese Brothers has signed a contract with the SBMA," Payumo said.

"Subic has all the advantages for a call center as it offers complete telecommunications facilities with a three-way global connectivity from fiber optic cable network to satellite transmission system and microwave uplink services needed to set up an international call center," he added.

Reese Brothers operates 14 call centers in the US.

It handles inbound voice, e-mail and online chat inquiries and telemarketing services which will be duplicated in Subic.

Reese Brothers plans to employ about 2,000 Filipino workers in the first two years of operations in Subic.

Ralph Reese, chief executive officer and co-founder of Reese Brothers Communications and Commerce, expressed confidence on the ability of Filipinos to speak English and their high computer literacy.

"Subic offers a total community package with an abundant skilled labor pool, adequate housing facilities and IT infrastructure," Payumo said.

Reese Brothers will locate its center at the Crown Peak where it has signed a sub-lease agreement with Crown Peak Estate Developers Inc.

Crown Peak will remit 50 percent of Reese’ rental to the SBMA.
