Rolls Royce to produce aircraft engines in RP

British-owned Rolls Royce will invest P40.75 million to manufacture and repair aircraft engine in the country. A Rolls-Royce subsidiary, Rolls-Royce Engine Services Limitada, Inc. (RRESLI) will engage in the remanufacture, repair and refurbishment of its model 250 engine which is a turbine engine for helicopter and other fixed wing aircraft like Cessna, Islander or Nomads.

Rolls Royce will locate its project inside the Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ) in Angeles City, Pampanga.

The project will serve as hub for the Asia-Pacific region, particularly its target market, civil/defense aerospace, marine and the energy sector.

The Clark Development Corp. is favorably endorsing the project for Board of Investment (BOI) registration as a pioneer service exporter enterprise including the six-year income tax holiday.

The BOI has given its approval to the project.

RRESLI will hire 34 people initially. The estimated cost of the project is approximately P40.75 million with a capacity of 94 units per year.

Start of commercial operation is February this year.

In the country, Rolls-Royce is better known for its high-end luxury automobile.

Rolls-Royce vehicles are exclusively distributed in the country by Auto Prominence Corp. which also distributes Volkswagen vehicles, Audi and Bentley.
