Aerotech, the exclusive representative/dealer of Aermacchi in the Philippines was awarded the contract for the mandatory inspection and maintenance of the Philippine Air Force’s fleet of Aermacchi S-211 jet trainers of the PAF. The facility’s formal inauguration slated on June 29 this year, will be highlighted with the acceptance of these S211 jet liners by the Philippine Air Force.
According to Teresa Parian, chief operating officer of Aerotech Industries Philippines Inc., the inauguration and roll-out which will be held at the Civil Aviation Complex, CSEZ at Clark Field will be witnessed by top officials of the government and of the Philippine Air Force.
Parian said this is the first time that PAF has approved in-country inspection maintenance of the military aircraft. This has been instituted to achieve time and efficiency in terms of operational capabilities and resources. Parian explained that this supports the Philippine national defense program on self-reliance and transfer of technology and skills. The tapping and upgrading of Filipino skilled workers in aviation and the implementation of an efficient logistic management system for the military can contribute to the country’s economic growth through foreign exchange savings and operating economies in time and management.
Aerotech’s thrust in this direction started in 1995 when it was appointed as the certified/licensed Martin-Baker Ejection Seats service facility in the country servicing the MK 10LA ejection seats on S-211 jet trainers of the PAF.
The Aerotech Group also owns the largest SF260 spares inventory, next only to the manufacturer, with more than 3000 line items of various quantities available to all their customers, both military and civilian aviation, worldwide.
