MANILA, Philippines (Updated 10:47 p.m.) — Inuga ng malakas-lakas na lindol ang ilang bahagi ng Pilipinas, Miyerkules, bagay na umabot sa magnitude 7, ayon sa state seismologists.
Bandang 8:43 a.m. ngayong umaga nang matukoy ng Phivolcs ang epicenter ng lindol sa Tayum, Abra, na siyang may "tectonic" na origin.
Unang ibinalitang 7.3 magnitude ang naging pagyanig sa bayan ng Lagangilang ngunit nirebisa rin kalaunan.

Aftershocks at landslide
Bagama't mula sa hilagang bahagi ng Pilipinas ang origin ng lindol, dama sa iba't ibang bahagi ng Luzon ang pagyanig — hanggang sa National Capital Region.
In-evacuate na ang ilang tao sa Senate building sa Pasay City matapos ang naturang lindol.
Naitala naman ang ilang landslide sa Governor Bado Dangwa National Road, partikular sa Boroan, Longilong, Datakan, Kapangan, Benget.
Kasalukuyang hindi madaraanan ang naturang kalsada ng mga motorista patungong Paykek, Kapangan at Kibungan.
Inaasahan ang pinsala at aftershocks mula sa naturang earthquake.

'Maging alerto'
Nanawagan naman ng panalangin si Abra Rep. Ching Bernos ng panalangin para sa kanyang mga nasasakupan ngayong dumaraan sa kalamidad ang kanilang probinsya.
"This strong earthquake shocked many of my beloved Abreños and caused damages to many households and establishments," sabi niya sa isang pahayag kanina.
"We are monitoring the situation on the ground and gathering information on the extent of the damage to the Province. My office is also actively coordinating with proper authorities on what can be done to assist families and communities that were severely affected by this earthquake."
Hinimok din niya ang lahat na maging alerto at gawing prayoridad ang kaligtasan sa gitna ng posibilidad ng mga aftershocks.
Ayon naman kay National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council spokesperson Mark Timbal, kinumpirma na ni ni NDRRMC chair Jose Faustino ang kahandaan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines para sumuporta sa local operations ng local government units.
Si Faustino rin ang in charge sa Department of National Defense, kung saan bahagi ang Office of Civil Defense.
