MANILA, Philippines - Kinatigan ni Datu Michael Abas Kida ng Maguindanao ang inisyatibang pangkapayapaan ng kapulisan at ng hukbong sandatahan sa Mindanao upang hindi anya makapanggulo iyong mga nagnanais na pigilin ang eleksyon sa Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) sa Agosto 8 ngayong taon.
“With many senators opposing the two bills proposing the postponement of the ARMM election, there may be a sinister effort to paint a picture of lawlessness in ARMM to force poll postponement on imagined security concerns,” wika ni Kida.
Binigyang-diin ni Kida na may mga grupo na maaaring gumawa ng artipisyal na krisis sa Mindanao upang isabotahe sa pamamagitan ng “dirty tricks” ang pagnanais ng mga Pilipinong Muslim na maiboto ang mga lider na kanilang pinagtitiwalaan at nirerespeto.
“It is not inconceivable that in the face of overwhelming sentiment against poll postponement, certain quarters could create an artificial peace and order problem, such as bombings targeting innocent civilians, so that the election would be moved to 2013,” wika ng datu.
Umapela si Kida sa Philippine National Police at sa Armed Forces of the Philippines higpitan ang seguridad sa Mindanao upang mapigilan ang anumang “staged-managed terrorist activities” na maaaring idahilan ng pamahalaan para ipagpaliban ang eleksyon sa ARMM.
Idinagdag niyang makalilikha pa ng mas maraming problema para sa administrasyong Aquino ang pagpapaliban sa ARMM election, lalo pa’t kung ang idadahilan lang ay ang natitira pang miyembro ng bandidong grupo ng Abu Sayaff sa Basilan at Sulu.
“The government cannot invoke their presence to postpone the elections because they are on the run and relentlessly pursued by the military and the police,” wika ni Kida.
“To do so would be a tacit admission that government is very much afraid of the Abu Sayyaf, which the military has declared is already a spent force.”
