Pangungunahan ni Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director Gen. Oscar Calderon ang opening ceremonies ng 2007 Defense and Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) ngayong Huwebes sa Mega Tradehalls 1 and 2, Building B ng SM Megamall sa Mandaluyong City.
Ayon kay Atty. Hector Rodriguez, presidente ng Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers (AFAD), inaasahang tatalakayin ni Calderon ang tulungan ng PNP at AFAD sa pagsugpo ng insidente ng firearms smuggling at proliferation o pagdami ng loose firearms dito sa bansa.
Kabilang din na dadalo sa DSAS opening rites sina Chief Supt. Romeo Ricardo, director ng PNP Civil Security Group (CSG) and iba pang matataas na opisyal ng PNP Firearms and Explosives Division (FED).
