Ayon kay Presidential Chief of Staff Mike Defensor, malaking kawalan sa Gabinete at Arroyo government ang katulad ni Sec. Cruz.
"Definitely he will be a loss to the Cabinet and to the Arroyo administration. But we also have to understand the personal disposition of Sec. Cruz and hopefully the defense program will be a continuing advocacy within the defense department," wika pa ni Sec. Defensor.
Kinumpirma naman ni Justice Secretary Raul Gonzales na nagkaroon sila ng hidwaan ni Cruz dahil sa usapin ng pagsusulong ng Peoples Initiative.
