Ang maong ordinansahon giduso ni Konsehal Rey Gealon ug gipasa na ngadto sa committee on laws, education ug health alang sa dugang mga pagtoon.
“The foods and drinks sold to the students/children in schools should, at all times, be clean, safe, healthy, and free from any harmful substances that may or will affect the children’s health now and/or in the future,” tipik sa unod sa maong ordinansahon. Matud pa ni Gealon nga tataw nga dili maayo sa panglawas ang softdrinks busa dili gyud kini haom ngadto sa mga bata.
“Some energy drinks, sports drinks, punches and iced teas and drinks
containing caffeine, information usually found at the “contents’ of the labels, may have harmful effects, in the future, to one’s health especially in children,” niya pa.
Aminado ang konsehal nga dunay nay mga ekskwelahan nga dunay nay kaugalingong lagda kalabot niini apan ang uban kay dili matarong og monitor busa duna gihapo’y mga bata ang mabaligyaan og “unhealthy drinks.”
“It shall be unlawful for any canteen, cafeteria, restaurant, eatery and/or any stall selling food and drinks inside a kindergarten, elementary, and high school or those within one hundred meters radius from any public and/or private school premises, to sell, individual or wholesale, carbonated soft drinks or soda, along with sports drinks, punches and iced teas, and drinks containing caffeine,” unod sa section 3 sa maong ordinansahon.
Samtang naa pud sa section 4 ang gitugot nga ilimnon alang sa mga tinun-an ug kini naglangkob sa fruit-based drinks nga walay adisyonal nga sweeteners; tubig ug seltzer; ug low fat o fat free milk. Sa higayon nga maaprobahan ang maong ordinansohon , adunay multa alang sa makasupak niini nga naglangkob sa P1,000 sa unang offense , P2,000 sa ikaduhang offense ,ug P5,000 o pagtangtang sa lisensya o deskresyon sa korte alang sa ikatulong offense.
