MANILA, Philippines — The Thomasian community proudly celebrated its recent quadricentennial anniversary, marking the University of Santo Tomas’ heritage, academic excellence, and societal contribution.
The year-long celebration began in 2009 with a countdown followed by events like the release of 200 peso bills with the UST quadricentennial logo by BSP, the commemorative stamps by PhilPost, Smart sim and call cards, Swatch watches and other collectible items highlighting the university’s 400 years.
As Mr. Pure Energy Gary V. aptly puts it during his performance at the quadricentennial concert, “longevity is not an easy thing to achieve” yet the university was able to obtain it, withstanding the various historical events that shaped the country while remaining true to its commitment of producing an excellent roster of alumni.
