CEBU, Philippines - A factory worker was found lifeless after he hanged himself inside the comfort room of a factory in Barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City last Wednesday afternoon.
Lapu-Lapu homicide police said Jeffrey Lacdaying, 35, single, a native of Baliwang,Isabel, Leyte, and a worker of stone-casting factory in the place was discovered by his fellow worker, Rey Oloberio, hanging inside the toilet.
Oloberio told the police he shouted for help when he saw Lacdaying hanging inside the comfort room. Another worker called for an ambulance, but Lacdaying was declared dead on arrival at the Mactan District Hospital.
A fellow worker of Lacdaying identified herself as Gigi Radaza told police probers that she observed him becoming uneasy while talking over the cellphone few days before he committed suicide.
She claimed to overhear him discussing about money problem.
Oloberio said last Wednesday afternoon they noticed Lacdaying entered the comfortroom. They became suspicious after an hour had passed while Lacdaying was still inside, prompted them to check through knocking the door.
He said they forcibly opened the doorafter no response was heard from Lacdaying, and saw him hanging with his neck tied with a rope with the other end tied in the comfort room’s beam. (FREEMAN)
