CEBU, Philippines - A jobless man who is facing a string of cases in court was taken to hospital after shooting and wounding himself Friday noon.
Erwin Apol, 45, jobless, married, and a resident of sitio Commonwealth in barangay Ibo, Lapu-Lapu City shot himself with a .38 caliber gun, once on the nape and once on the abdomen.
His son took him to hospital.
The Homicide Section of the Lapu-Lapu City Police said Apol was in a bad mood before he shot himself.
Homicide said Apol had threatened to shoot neighbor, Eusebio Troya.
One of Apol’s boarders told police the man went to his room brandishing a knife and suggested that they commit suicide.
At around 11 a.m., two gunshots coming from his room were heard.
Son Erwin Apol Jr. went to his father’s room and saw him bathed in his own blood.
Police also said Apol is facing charges for homicide, illegal drugs, and illegal possession of firearms.
