‘Bakbakan sa Sugbu’ resumes today

CEBU, Philippines – Cebuano fight fans will witness another exciting kickboxing and mixed martial arts action in the resumption of the ‘Bakbakan sa Sugbu’ today at the Cebu City Sports Institute located in Barangay San Nicolas, this city.

The monthly combat grassroots program which is presented by Cebu City Sports Commission and Yaw-Yan ArDigma Cebu Martial Arts Inc., started last year in its goal of giving free entertainment to Cebuanos and at the same time scout for aspiring athletes that can someday represent Cebu in regional tournaments.

In the main event of Muay Thai kickboxing, veteran Dodong ‘Tiger’ Jagape of Bohol Top Team will go toe-to-toe against Dan Cotejo of Team Bagwis in Mandaue City.

Fighting in the supporting bout is Cotejo’s teammate Darrel ‘K9’ Dabon who will face Sif ‘Axe’ Badio of United MMA.

Meanwhile, young MMA prospect Josh ‘Buffalo’ Ybañez of Yaw-Yan ArDigma will try to score his second straight victory against Durex Dragon KBC’s Benedict ‘Little Warrior’ Torbiso.

Seven more pairs of kickboxers and MMA fighters will add spice in the undercards. (FREEMAN)
