CEBU, Philippines — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-7 is set to file charges for violation of Presidential Decree 449 as amended PD 1602 against individuals caught in an illegal cockfight in Barangay Paril, Cebu City on Friday afternoon.
The anti-illegal gambling operation was jointly conducted by the CIDG-Cebu City Field Unit, Lapu-Lapu City Field Unit and Cebu City Police Office Station 8 that resulted in the arrest of 14 individuals.
Those arrested were identified as Danilo Sanrojo Clarus, 57; Ronnie Tudtud, 71; Bonifacio Alfante, 64; Discoro Limpag, 56; Tiodoro Gerebese, 58; Cisenio Johnson, 56; Leonardo Gomez, 50; Antonio Quimay, 60; Benedicto Narvasa, 41; Candido Capute, 48; Marwin Cobrador, 27; Fernando Soten, 54; Pancresio Pitogo Jr., 38; and Mario Cerojano, 55.
They are residents of barangays Paril, Agsungot, Cambinocot and Lusaran, all in Cebu City while others are from the towns of Asturias and Compostela.
The CIDG-7 said the operation was conducted following a consistent report that Danilo Clarus organized an illegal cockfighting in Barangay Paril on Fridays and Sundays. — Banat News, GMR (FREEMAN)
