CEBU, Philippines — No tickets for the Sinulog Grand Parade are available on the market yet due to the delay in the printing.
Sinulog Foundation, Inc. executive director Elmer "Jojo" Labella admitted that there has been a delay in the production of the tickets due to the confusion earlier brought about by the controversy between the SFI and the Cebu City Sinulog Governing Board.
Labella said the marketing team was given a deadline today to finalize everything about the tickets.
"Ang tickets man gud di mani sa among control, ang marketing mani," said Labella.
Labella disclosed that people are already inquiring about the Sinulog and a bigger percentage of the inquiries are on the tickets. He said there were some delays because of some confusion as to who will do the marketing and how the marketing should be done.
"But it was stressed out in the end and now both are coordinating, complementing... more or less cooperating gyud," said Labella.
Even with the delay, Labella hopes that the Sinulog tickets will be sold out.
"In terms of buying the tickets, those who are interested to come would really come especially nga walk-in man ni," he said.
Based on the history, Sinulog tickets are always sold out. Labella also mentioned that the contingents this year are considered as the best performers.
He said they consider this year's Sinulog performances as the "battle of choreographers."
Labella added that they are 85 to 90 percent ready for the Sinulog Festival on January 19, 2020. SFI has announced that they will be releasing new kind of tickets for the festival.
Gone are the physically printed tickets, the tickets now comes in a wristband form with Quick Response (QR) code for those who wants to watch the festival from the Cebu City Sports Center grandstand bleachers. FPL (FREEMAN)
