MANILA, Philippines — Two of the Premier Volleyball League’s most feared attackers collide as PLDT’s Savi Davison and Nxled’s Brooke Van Sickle face off in an early clash of titans in the All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series today at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Davison will spearhead the Manny V. Pangilinan-owned club in its quest for a third championship, while Van Sickle leads the fledgling LED light-manufacturing franchise in its bid for a breakthrough title. They meet at 6 p.m.
Both squads are parading stacked lineups.
The High Speed Hitters feature Kianna Dy, Majoy Baron, Mika Reyes, Kat Arado, Kim Fajardo, Jovy Prado, Dell Palomata and Leila Cruz, while the Chameleons counter with MJ Phillips, Myla Pablo, Gel Cayuna, Jonah Sabete-Escamillan, Jacqueline Acuña, Lyann de Guzman, Chiara Permentilla and EJ Laure.
Nxled enters the match riding the momentum of its historic runner-up finish in the Invitational Conference behind champion Est Cola of Thailand a month ago – a run that included a straight-set win over PLDT.
What made it more impressive was that the Chameleons pulled it off without Van Sickle, who sat out due to shoulder issues.
But the two-time champion and three-time MVP is expected to be back and ready to roll.
Also opening their campaigns are Farm Fresh and Galeries Tower, which clash at 1 p.m.
