Manila, Philippines - The country’s top riders go on another exciting road trip as the 2011 Bridgestone Philippine Superbikes Championship and the 2011 Pioneer Mighty Gasket Philippine National Scooters and Underbone King Championships bring the action to the Clark International Speedway today.
Defending champion Maico Buncio of Suzuki aims for another sweep that will fortify his bid for a four-peat in the Superbikes Open class of this event sanctioned by the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association (NAMSSA) and sponsored by Bridgestone, MIB, Inside Racing and Racing Beat@Wave 89.1FM.
Buncio showed top form and though he’s yet familiarizing himself to the new Suzuki GSXR-600cc, he’s way too classy for his rivals as he quickly poised himself at the top spot in the second lap and eventually swept both pre-final and final races.
Out to stop him are 16-year-old Dashi Watanabe, Craeme Colwill and John Defensor.
Favored in the other divisions are Raniel Resuelo in the SBK Intermediate class, Erwin Agra in the SBK Novice division over John Paul Jose, Jhon Jeffrey Magallanes and Rommel Florante.
Watanabe and Marvin Mangulabnan likewise seek their back-to-back triumph in the 2011 Pioneer Mighty Gasket Philippine National Scooters and Underbone King Championships also sanctioned by the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association (NAMSSA) and sponsored by Pioneer Mighty Gasket, Bridgestone, MIB, Inside Racing, Pagcor Sports and Racing Beat@Wave 89.1FM.
Watanabe eyes a repeat over top guns Benjamin Dolores, Cassey Ng, defending champion Ivan Santiago and Benjo Mendoza in the premiere 180cc Automatic Scooter class.
Mangulabnan, on the other hand, aims to prevail anew over Niño Fabian, Anthony Roman, Dustin Esguerra and Benjo Mendoza in the premiere Underbone King 150cc Open class.
John Emerson Inguito is hoping to pull another double win in the 115cc Open over Garry Caneda Jr. and the 160cc Automatic Scooter against Ralph Kenneth Torres and Lyndon Requilme.
Also favored are Michael Cabaysa in the 130cc Automatic Scooter, Aries Padiernos in the 400cc Expert class, Toshihiko Maeda in the 400cc Novice, Anthony Roman in the 130cc Open; Lyndon Requilme in the 115cc Novice
