MANILA, Philippines - The Laguna de Bay Conservation Society and the Laguna Lake Development Authority, co-organizers of the first Laguna de Bay Ultra Marathon Relay Race set May 1-2 have extended the deadline for the submission of registration and eligibility requirements to Friday, 12 noon.
“We heeded the request of teams including environmentalist runners from overseas”, LLDA general manager Edgardo Manda said.
He said all qualified teams must attend the technical briefing set 1 p.m. at the Doña Juanita Function Room at the Club Manila East in Taytay, Rizal.
Also, the 212 km road race shall offer additional P5,000 as incentive prize for the runners with best times in each of the 10 laps.
Race director Thumbie Remigio said lap honors based on split times would ensure an exciting and competitive relay race.
The relay race is an advocacy activity which aims to create greater awareness on the state of the Laguna Lake and the need for community involvement to protect the lake including the watershed areas.
