MANILA, Philippines - Team R2-Harbour Centre stamped its class anew by winning the Seniors 35-year-old and above division crown in the La Salle Alumni Basketball League held recently at the La Salle Greenhills gym.
Bannered by former PBA and UAAP stars Noli Locsin, John Cardel and Mikee Romero, Team R2/Harbour Centre outlasted La Salle Dasma in the final, 56-50.
The championship was a huge follow-up to its victory in the Open division where it clinched a record fourth straight title and seventh overall. It swept the best-of-three title series against San Juan-Mighty Sports, which it capped with a 78-71 win.
Team R2-Harbour Centre is also fancied to win a third championship after clinching a finals berth in the Fellowship division.
Other members of the team mentored by Nikki Romero and Erick Arejola are Jorge Gallent, Poch Juinio, Rafa Dinglasan, San Juan Mayor JV Ejercito, Ferdie Lagman, Jun Coronel, Alvin Antonio, Rey Jose, Cris Ryan Cruz, Joseph Pagulayan, ZitoAmistoso, Warren Kapitan, Mac Bautista, Kerby Chua, Dax Bulaon, Andre Santos and Jomatime Silva.
The event is the biggest alumni basketball meet where all La Sallians who have studied in any La Salle schools for at least two years, are eligible to play.
