The Nationals who are set to shoot for the gold medals in Busan, Korea will be put to a big test by a horde of veterans in a 72-hole duel that marks the addition of a Riviera leg into the growing number of big time amateur competitions.
Foremost among the challengers in the championship division for players with handicaps of 4.7 and below are Dave Hernandez, multi-titled Tommy Manotoc, JR Tanpinco and former national team mainstays Boyet Zaragosa and Iggy Clavecilla.
"Our amateurs need as many competitive tournaments as they can have to keep on improving. Thus, Riviera would like to have its own event which will give players in various handicap divisions their chance to test their skills," said Riviera General Manager John Blanch.
