MANILA, Philippines —  To help reduce cases of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and other sexually transmitted infections, the Department of Health is intensifying its condom access program, with DOH  representatives distributing over 15,000 condoms to government agencies.

The DOH, represented by the Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC), delivered two boxes of condoms, equivalent to 5,184 pieces, to the Department of Justice, as part of the DOJ’s 129th anniversary.

It also gave the Manila City government and Metro Rail Transit management two boxes of condoms each.

The Bureau of Quarantine and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples are also set to receive the same amount of free condoms.

“The distribution of free condoms is in line with DOH’s goal of reducing cases of HIV, sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies,” the PNAC said.

According to the group, condoms will also be given to local government units and the barangays.

In its latest HIV-Aids Surveillance of the Philippines Report, the DOH said 2,994 confirmed HIV-positive people were recorded from April to June 2026.

For this quarter, 828 people have been diagnosed with advanced HIV.
