MANILA, Philippines — A suspected drug dealer yielded around 500 grams of shabu valued at P3.4 million in Parañaque City on Monday night.

The suspect, known only as Efren, 30, was arrested by the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group in Barangay Don Galo.

PDEG director Brig. Gen. Elmer Ragay said the suspect was apprehended following a drug deal with a police officer who posed as a buyer.

Police recovered the shabu and marked money from the suspect.

“We will continue to strengthen inter-agency coordination and intelligence-driven operations to protect our communities from the dangers of illegal drugs,” Ragay said in a statement.

The suspect is being held on drug trafficking charges.

The suspects yielded 51.39 grams of shabu when they were apprehended in Barangay Rizal, National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said.

The teenager was brought to the Taguig social services and development office. His cohort was taken into police custody.
