P249.8 million shabu at NAIA seized

MANILA, Philippines — Over P249.8 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride from Mexico has been confiscated at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Customs agents found 36.74 kilos of shabu concealed in LED spotlights at the NAIA warehouse on April 17.

“We are committed to making sure that these dangerous drugs never reach our communities,” Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said yesterday.

He said charges would be filed against importers, consignees and other involved parties.

The shabu will be turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
