MANILA, Philippines — A vendor and his daughter were killed after several men fired at their tricycle along a road in Barangay Butucan in Nasugbu, Batangas on Sunday.

The victim’s sons, John and Lester, survived the attack, although John was wounded and is recuperating in a hospital. Lester was able to run away unharmed from their attackers.

Their 16-year-old sister Elaine, who was rushed by rescuers to the hospital, died during treatment.

In a report from the Nasugbu town police, investigators said the father, a vendor whose identity was withheld by probers, was driving the tricycle along with his children on Sunday night when the attackers fired their caliber .45 handgun and M-16 rifles.

Investigators said the vendor died on the spot.
