MANILA, Philippines — Felicer “Boy” Santos, who was a photographer of The STAR for 28 years, died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Quezon City at around 12:30 a.m. yesterday.
Santos, who joined The STAR on April 1, 1993, covered the Quezon City Police District and Camp Crame beats.
Fellow STAR photographer Walter Bollozos said he had known Santos since the latter joined the newspaper’s photo department.
“He used to be our labman, then eventually became one of our best photojournalists assigned to different beats. Brother Boy was a very open and vocal person, he spoke his mind,” Bollozos said.
He added that when people asked Santos a favor, “he never says no. Most of the time he will find ways or solutions before he says no.”
Santos is survived by his two children, Bonjoe Feliz Santos and Bea Felyn Santos.
According to Bonjoe, Santos’ wake is being held at the Orchids Chapel in La Funeraria Novaliches along Quirino Highway in Quezon City until the morning of Nov. 24.
