MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 5.3 earthquake rocked parts of the Ilocos region yesterday but state seismologists said there were no reports of damage or injuries.
Renato Solidum, director of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, said the tremor struck at around 5:01 a.m. and its epicenter was traced some 31 kilometers southeast of Laoag City in Ilocos Norte.
The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Sinait, Cabugao and Burgos towns in Ilocos Sur, and Intensity 2 in Pasuquin, Laoag City, Batac and Sarrat towns in Ilocos Norte.
