Caloocan hospital’s diabetes clinic cited

MANILA, Philippines - The Consortium of Government Diabetic Clinic, Inc. (CGDCI) recently recognized the President Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Medical Center (PDMMMC) as the “Best Diabetes Clinic of 2012.”

Caloocan Mayor Enrico Echiverri said yesterday the recognition was presented by the consortium to the PDMMMC in ceremonies in Antipolo City on Nov. 11.

Dr. Lucita Aguilar, PDMMMC medical director, said the diabetes clinic was recognized for its “free laboratory and check-up” services for diabetic residents of Caloocan.

Last week, the diabetes clinic offered free cholesterol tests to city residents as a birthday gift of the mayor, which also coincided with the anniversary of the city and the PDMMMC.

The mayor vowed to provide more health programs to residents, aside from the ongoing medical services for the diabetics.

Councilor Ricojudge Echiverri, Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas president, also congratulated the PDMMMC and challenged the health institution to provide not only better but “excellent” service for Caloocan’s residents.
