MANILA, Philippines – Bureau of Customs (BOC) agents recovered yesterday a P20-million shipment of anti-ulcer drugs, which reportedly went missing last January, from a house in Quezon City.
The BOC teams, led by Customs Police chief Col. Jose Yuchongco and Intelligence and Enforcement Group director Nestorio Gualberto, raided 5 Banawan street in Barangay Masambong.
The teams recovered 60 boxes of the anti-ulcer drug Pantoloc (generic name pantoprazole) and 40 more boxes of an unidentified anti-ulcer medicine.
In a statement, the BOC said the recovered drugs are consigned to Zuellig Pharma Corp. The shipment “went missing while being processed at the Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport.”
In another report, Gualberto and Yuchongco said they will summon a certain Joselito Testa of Majestic Freight to shed light on how the shipment was taken out of the warehouse where it was stored.
