A fire razed at least eight houses in Barangay Pulang Lupa in Las Piñas City yesterday morning.
Senior Fire Officer 2 Gerardo Porley, arson investigator, said the blaze started around 7:56 a.m. on the second floor of a house on Tramo street, reportedly owned by Jeanette Montes. The fire spread to neighboring houses, which were mostly made of wood and light materials.
The blaze, which reached the first alarm, was contained around 8:46 a.m. More than 10 firetrucks rushed to the site to help put out the flames.
Porley said the residents were able to save a few things from the houses that were totally burned. No one was reported injured in the incident.
He said they are still conducting a follow-up investigation to determine the cause of the fire. – Rhodina Villanueva
